Have your car decontaminated? Really? But why? We don't have to drive far to accumulate tree sap, road salt, chemicals, dirt, or bird droppings. These various contaminants will become embedded on and even in the exterior of your car.
As you will have understood, decontamination of your car is essential to the health of the paint as it allows for a deep cleaning, like an exfoliant, and thus eliminates undesirable deposits.
A deeper wash
Over time, the bodywork is covered with all kinds of small particles, especially on the bonnet and wings. A good wash will of course remove the dirt from the surface, but it will not remove the small particles that adhere to the paint.
Brake dust that accumulates on the wings is a good example. On a dark car, it won't even be noticed! On a white or light-coloured car, however, if you look closely, you can see small rust spots, which are simply metal dust that has adhered to the car and oxidised over time. Decontamination of the bodywork will remove these particles before applying the protection. It is very important to do this!
Extending the life of your vehicle
Of course, all of this helps to extend the life of your vehicle and maintain its youthful beauty! And it's not just for used cars, your new vehicle will stay that way even longer if it's well maintained. And you can be sure that it won't take long for contaminants to show up on your car.
No one likes to have a vehicle that is dirty and in poor condition. No one wants to be considered neglectful. Over time, the contaminants that settle on the paint will then penetrate all the other layers that protect your vehicle (wax, varnish, paint, and primer).
The consequences can be catastrophic. The balance of the paint is weakened, and it gradually loses its shine. Your car is getting older! And think about the resale value.
We have real experts
Here at Toyota Richmond, we have a team of real experts trained in decontamination. It's a real long-term investment. We suggest that you bring your car in for decontamination at least twice a year. In the spring or early summer, like now, to give your vehicle a shine for those nice summer drives and in the fall, as you prepare it for the winter.
Call us now, we care about the health of your car as much as you do.
